The Rescue Cookbook

a prototype for food salvage communities

 

The Rescue Cookbook is a project prototype serving as an art-sci-tech platform to stop food waste mismanagement through community-run directories that locate and salvage edible food sources. Reducing food waste begins with our households through conscientious shopping and prevention. The Rescue Cookbook fosters community teamwork through food-finding, deal-locating, recipe sharing, and composting tips; edible food can be reused in novel ways that would otherwise go to waste, and inedible food can be composted as a better alternative to landfills.
